Obituary

Cody “Cookie” Roettele, 35 years, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at the Christ Hospital, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Cody was born in Highland County, Ohio, on January 30, 1984, the son of Alfred and Denise (Swayne) Roettele. Cody worked as an aircraft mechanic for Hanger #6, Inc. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #1161, as well as an Eagle Scout.
Cody was preceded in death by his father, Al Roettele. He is survived by his wife Elisha(Baker) Roettele, whom he married on July 18, 2015. He also leaves behind a daughter, Aubry Yochum, of Hillsboro; his mother, Denise Roettele, of Peebles; and his maternal grandmother, Shirley Swayne, of Peebles. Cody’s passing will be mourned by his two sisters, Coleen (Brandon) Triplett, of Ironton; Cara (Donovan) Penn, of McDermott; and a half-sister, Danielle Skelton, of Florida; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of dear friends.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, in Peebles. The ceremony will be officiated by Phil Fulton. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, prior to the memorial services. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

We met Cookie and Slim several years ago. Cookie was a sweet polite young man. We are so heartbroken by his loss. Prayers to his Mother, family and friends. I know Slim was waiting on him with a smile. Rest in Peace My friend. Never forgotten.
